We got some early snow this year and what better weather to start a new project! Here's a shot of my home studio. I have plenty of light and high ceilings, which makes me very happy :)
For the first one, I chose a tobacco brown in the weft in a new swirl pattern that I've been working on. The plan is to expand this pattern from the original straight draw on 32 shafts to a progressing twill but, I'll work on that once I see how the other variations in a straight draw look.
It has a bit of a feathery look to it and I'm pretty happy with the results so far. I have another variation of this same pattern that should play out similar. The plan is one drab color and one bright color for each before modifying the patterns.
I decided to dive into the stash and use up some 8/2 periwinkle blue tencel for the warp. For the weft, I'll use up some of the smaller cones in a variety of colors.

I've been getting some attention from Pinterest in patterns and how they are created. There has been a couple of occasions where people have researched pictures to find my website and send me an email. That means the absolute world to me...to be recognized for my design capability. Please, if you have any questions, I'm ready to answer. My inspiration for weaving came from designers and their readiness to answer questions. Thank you!
