The next run is on the loom. A straight draw using 32 shafts in a twill to start and probably ending in a plaited twill to give some depth in design. I chose a burgundy in 8/2 tencel sett at 30 epi. 24 epi works fine for plain weave but since I'm working with a twill 30 epi will give a denser fabric, which is what I prefer. So...the fist step is sketching the preliminary design as a base pattern and then working from there. Break out the pencil, ruler, graph paper, and (of course) eraser. 8/2 burgundy sett at 30 epi 8" a straight draw and two floating selvedges for 242 ends. Four scarves at 70" each with 10" fringe on either end for a total of 90"...so an 11 yard warp. Distributing the warp evenly in the raddle. Ready for the tension to be set and the start of a new run! I swear that the hardest part of this is choosing what color warp...
