With my recent join with the Etsy street team EstyFAST (Fiber Arts Street Team), I have been delving back into dyeing protein fibers for the August challenge, which is a celestial theme. Here is the part that might be hard for some to handle......I have been dyeing alpaca. Yes yes I know, it's very taboo but, I can't help it. It's just that it comes out so beautiful. I dyed three different shades of blue and a little yellow. We shall see what the blending will bring.
The scarves are off of the loom and I have to say that I am pleased with the results. Here they are.

Green crosses pattern which is currently in the Wurtsboro Art Gallery.
Black and blue hearts, my personal theme for the week;)
All three hung out to dry after wet finishing.
With other news, this week as well as next will be very busy. Three of my items are now on display at the Wurtsboro Art Gallery along side some other amazing artists' work. The second annual Art in the Park will feature some of these artists. If you are in the Orange, Sullivan, Ulster County area, I urge you to come out and walk the town, eat some great food, and take in some of what Wurtsboro has to offer. August 18th I will be showing some of my items at My Saddle Brook Farm in Walden, New York at their open house. Please see the events page for more information.
Okie dokie. Well, it is way past my bedtime and I must be off.....until next time:)
